They left a note, packed their bags and ran away together “to be away from everything”.
At just 14, Lucas Bollard and Sophie McGregor have left their parents and police worried about where they’ve been for three days.
The Sydney teenagers, who have been in a relationship for three months, have not been seen since Saturday, police said.
Lucas’s parents called police after finding a note he had left for them.
Botany Bay Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Mal Smith said the young couple had taken enough money to “get by”, but their disappearance was concerning because of their age.
“We believe they’re two young persons who may be in love,” Inspector Smith said.
“They only met three months ago, apparently.
“It’s apparent to us at this stage they may have gone away to a location to be away from everything.”
Police believe they may have gone to the Blue Mountains or Lithgow and are asking anyone who sees them to call authorities.
Both teenagers were from stable backgrounds, Inspector Smith said.
“It’s just out of character for both of them and we’re just making all the inquiries we possibly can.
“They’re young kids trying to get away and our concern is that we don’t know where that ‘away’ is.”
Inspector Smith said it was unclear what the teenagers packed to take away with them.
Lucas, who is 183 centimetres tall, was last seen wearing blue jeans, white sneakers and a grey Hurley hooded jumper.
Sophie, who is 152 centimetres tall, was last seen wearing black jeans, black boots and a white T-shirt and a grey jumper with a black cartoon on the front.
She may have been carrying a blue cardigan and had a green fabric backpack.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said officers would be looking at whether the pair had mobile phones or had updated their social networking sites.

Ok so I’m pretty sure everyone’s gonna scroll past this, but I would appreaciate it if you didn’t :)The girl in the picture above, her name is Sophie, I have known her my whole entire life and she is one of my closest friends, she’s always been there for me, she’s nice beautiful, kind, loving caring and just in general a GREAT person :) I have never not loved her and we have never not been friends, even when she moved away for a few years, even when we fought about silly things when we were little kids. I always have and always will. On saturday though she left, I’m not sure where too but we haven’t heard from her since and I miss her like crazy I’m so upsest and everyone just wants her home.
The boy, Lucas I have known since I was about 5, he’s her boyfriend. I want him home as well. He’s so loving, caring, nice and he’s so good to her and they are an amazing couple. They’ve been so good for each other and she’s made him happier and vise versa :)
All I want is for them to come home safe, so, if you could please reblog this just to let everyone know about them it would be fabulous because I miss them so much and I just want them to be safe.
If you know ANYTHING please tell me (http://flyhomebirdy.tumblr.com/ask) my name is Ruby. Contact the police or crime fighters or ANYONE who can help. Please I beg of you if you see anything that looks remotely like these two teenagers tell someone!
